How I Deal With Email

I get quite a lot of email each day; some days more, some days less. I'm not particularly special in that regard. However, I process it in a way which may make my replies to your emails or postings somewhat delayed vs. the time the original message was sent. After getting a new piece of mail/news, I read it through if it's relevant to me, and apply various tags to it, before filing it out of my inbox. If I can reply to it in five minutes, then I reply there-and-then.

Most mail goes in the "action" pile, from whence it is cleared in batches every now and again. I try not to keep any mail in that pile for more than a week or so.

If you ask me a complicated or otherwise in-depth question about Angband which means I have to give consideration to some idea, it tends to go in my "Angband" pile rather than my "Action" pile. Stuff in my action pile gets dealt with much quicker than stuff in the "Angband" pile, generally. The "Angband" pile also contains any news postings which I read and need to take into consideration when dealing with some issue in the future.

So, apologies if I don't get back to you for a long time sometimes, but it'll be in a pile somewhere waiting to be processed. If you ask me a question which someone else doesn't answer first, you'll definitely get a reply; it may just be a bit... delayed.
